Unlike spam, the information I provide is actually good for you!
(well I’d love to think I’m working towards providing that anyway )
I’ve been totally inspired by a comment left on my FaceBook Fan page, that said “Spam”!
This has motivated me to write about a few things I’ve been thinking about recently.
Why am I responding to this from a business perspective?
I think its best to be transparent!
I can’t see the point of being any other way!
In response to the recent feedback;
A response is great because it means that someone has actually been moved to take action,
That really can make a positive difference in terms of highlighting subjects!
I would prefer to be ignored, then not noticed at all!
Think about this, if someone has made the choice to ignore you, then that means you have already been noticed!
Wow….. if you can get noticed is such a competitive, fast-growing industry, that is health and fitness, then that’s a big achievement in my eyes!
“No More Mr. Nice Guy!!!!” That’s what I said recently and I meant it!
This brings me nicely on to something that I’m very passionate about, and of course, that’s wellness. I’ve been thinking it over for a long time, so I’m just going to come out with it and let the story develop, ill may add to this short article as the dust settles. None of my articles are ever very long anyway because I’m naff at spelling and I get tired of using Google as a spell check!
This may come out as a bit of a rant, but I really don’t care!
I’m going to speak frankly, not sure if that’s going to help my professional profile but there you go. If you’re not prepared for this then feel free to check out some of my other articles.
The H&F industry has really been pissing me off big time!
I’ve completely moved out and away from other scenes in the past because I had enough of the BULLSHIT and egos.
Well I’ve decided I’m not budging, this is where I’m at and this is where I’m going to stay. I think I may even kick up a fuss while I’m at it!
The main point I want to make!
This industry is full of drugs user and many strongly push the unrealistic expectations through not telling you the truth, that you can achieve the same ripped look, muscle tone, shape and muscle volume that the magazines and web images depict!
This same group is also promoting health, but if it wasn’t for the drugs and other stuff they are on,
a fair few would probably have adrenal fatigue or worst still, chronic fatigue syndrome!
You are seeing the few that make it, not the majority that goes tits up in later life!
Now I agree it could possibly be seen as a better path to follow than that of alcohol, hard drugs,
tobacco and a fast food lifestyle, but there again it would look good against those bad examples.
Who cares, So what?
They are just making a living!
Well, where this really leads to highlight the mass marketing brainwashing that’s going on,
that purposely blurs the boundaries between looking a certain way and what true wellness really is.
And most importantly being transparent about what you can realistically active.
This marketing monster machine wants you to believe that being you isnt good enough.
You ain’t sexy enough, you need more swagger and bling ( ie attention in the way of likes )
If you don’t look like the pictures that are everywhere then you need to work harder,
work like an animal, crawl out of the gym and take loads of supplements and all sorts of other stuff.
I agree with work like an animal and craw out of the gym but do it on your terms,
what feels right.
Life’s not just about working yourself into the ground,
comparing yourself to others.
But one thing I do know I bet you are tired of being told to appreciation where your at and what you can become.
You may be thinking who am I to be writing about this!
Do I need to be someone to express what I see as a valid, possibly more healthy balanced viewpoint than what the industry and crushing it experts are saying?
I’ve been experimenting with my own body and health for over 28 years ( OMG, that looks scary for me to type )
Basically, since I first started training in 1989 I was around 15, thanks to the inspiration of the rocky film.
I’ve given every last ounce of effort and I have learnt a few things in the process,
so I believe that gives me the right to pipe up and tell it as I see and have seen it.
Aiming for something that’s not you, in most cases will just take you further away from who you need to be doing to get long-term results!
Imaging explaining this to your child!
“I want you to spend the rest of your life trying to be the same as everyone else…….
Because you not good enough as you are!!!!”
Well you know what…..
You have potential to achieve amazing health, clarity of mind,
a fantastic body that will be strong, durable, without illness and disease.
If you just slow down take notice of whats going on inside,
become clearer in thought rather than being driven by insecurities built on the bases of actually feeling bad about yourself because everyone’s showing their best moment pics.
I’m saying give it all that you have,
find healthy practices but ignore the messages to be impatient and jump from one thing to another,
and most of all stop comparing the way you look at someones touched up, best angled, best of the 50 pics that they just spent 20mins taking and adding filters too.
( Nigel takes a breath…… )
Your real, what you see around you is fake, so choose a vision that works for you.
Your health is your clarity and power!
Focus on you, and start using I…..
as much as I have in this article!
