Forget the stress of work, that’s nothing compared to the internal stress put upon your body by the build up of toxins from a poor diet and insufficient rest and recovery.
Take in to account the mental negativity and frustration that can go hand in hand with feeling stressed and rundown. You may be able to shift temporarily out of the situation with a positive mind set, but it’s going to catch up with you, force you to listen and take notice of your body.
You know only to well, when you are fully recovered and fed, you can take on anything. As opposed to only sleeping 4 hrs, drinking coffee and eating chocolate just to stay awake. You can forget alert, you left that in bed when you go up. You have basically spent the whole day, drugging yourself with stimulants, watching the clock and hoping for the hours to speed by so you can get home, only for the pattern to continue the next day. At that very point you should be asking yourself. Even though I think I’m a machine, is something’s trying to tell me to listen up, take heed and change something, perhaps before I’m forced to take time off with illness or injury.
Taking the path of least resistance is not laziness; it’s sometime the only option and most often the correct one. So listen out for the signs of stress!
