Convenient meals may help you achieve your goals short term.
You may lose some body fat, but how long will this last?
When will you run your body into the ground through lack of nutrients your not getting?
Is this really a good strategy for the long term?
For long term you’re going to have to change your lifestyle and habits to empower you rather than keep you guessing. The food and what you’re putting in your body should be enjoyable. You should feel excited about what you’re eating.
Don’t just go to the super market and pick up any old crap because you have seen everyone else eating it and the packet looks nice. Educate yourself, be inquisitive about what you’re eating.
As for convenience. Owning certain pieces of kitchen equipment will enable you to prepare and cook your meals with the minimum effort and time, whilst saving money and helping you understand exactly what you’re getting.
Here are a few basic pieces of kitchen equipment I recommend you to utilise:
Food processer – Great for chopping vegetables, grinding up nuts, seeds and making smoothies.
Steamer – Quickly and easy cook meats, poultry, fish and vegetables, whilst retaining more nutrients than boiling, great for batch cooking.
Slow Cooker – hassle free cooking, either over night or on the timed setting for when you come in from work, also great for batch cooking.
Get some food containers to take food out with you, also using them to store extra portions in the fridge for later.
Having food at hand means you don’t grab instant fixes like sweets because you’ll be more inclined to graze on what you have already prepared as and when you feel your energy levels dropping.
It won’t then be a case that you have allowed yourself to go beyond the point of hunger to the point where you have crashed. Make time to prepare what you need, and you will become more confident, informed, independent and less reliant on so called “Convenient Meals”.
